LEMONS & MONSTERS Opening
With our sixth exhibition at the imprfct space, we continue our series of experimental spatial installations. In collaboration with filmmaker and video artist Owi Mahn, we have created LEMONS & MONSTERS, an installation that deliberately breaks away from traditional design processes.
At its core is an approach that eschews control and instead follows the first impulse. Materials, decisions, and processes emerge without correction and without a fixed concept. The space evolves during the process and remains deliberately open to change.
In terms of content, the installation moves between two poles: lemons and monsters. While the lemon represents an immediate, physical reaction, the monster embodies the uncontrollable. This tension becomes tangible within the space, shifting perception away from a purely rational observation toward a direct, physical experience.
The staging combines kinetic objects, archaic traces, and an interplay of light and sound to create a multi-layered experiential space. Interactive elements actively intervene in the proceedings: visitors are addressed, challenged, and drawn into the installation. Their role shifts between observation, participation, and disorientation.
imprfct space No 6 is a temporary installation that can be experienced over several weeks and continues to evolve throughout the exhibition. As with previous editions, we are creating specific opportunities to give visitors access to the space. In addition, imprfct space can be viewed by appointment.
Special thanks go to our partners at bright! for their close collaboration in bringing this project to life.
