Shaping Sustainability Together
For us, sustainability isn’t just an afterthought – it’s part of our responsibility as an experiential communications agency. After all, experiences don’t happen in a vacuum. They affect people, require resources, and leave their mark. This makes it all the more important to ask how we can ensure that this impact is as positive as possible.
That is why we are involved in the “Sustainability Network for Event Agencies” (NNE). The network brings together agencies that exchange ideas on sustainable business practices in the events industry, learn from one another, and work together on concrete solutions. The focus is not just on individual measures, but on the continuous development of standards, processes, and mindsets within the industry.
The basis for this collaboration is the Manifesto for Sustainable Action, which was published in early 2025. It sets out common guidelines for embedding sustainability in agencies and projects. Topics such as sustainability management, the circular economy, mobility, energy, and catering are addressed, as is collaboration across the entire value chain.
For us, sustainability goes beyond operational measures. As experience experts, we grapple daily with the question of what long-term impact an experience can have. The most sustainable experience is not necessarily the one that conserves the most resources, but often the one that moves people, shifts perspectives, or creates momentum that extends far beyond the moment itself.
At the same time, we see great potential in integrating environmental responsibility more deeply into creative processes. The reuse of materials, circular concepts, conscious mobility choices, and more sustainable production methods are just as relevant as the development of formats that create long-term added value.
Internally, too, we are constantly working to further develop our sustainability efforts. At Jazzunique, these efforts are consolidated under our “Force for Tomorrow” initiative. The team is led by Helen Gerbl, a certified Green Consultant and Sustainability Manager, who continuously drives our company’s sustainable development forward.
The exchange within the network helps us gain new perspectives, share experiences, and jointly develop solutions to the challenges facing our industry. After all, many issues surrounding sustainable events cannot be solved alone. They require collaboration, openness, and a willingness to learn from one another.
With the network’s recent integration into the work of fwd: Bundesvereinigung Veranstaltungswirtschaft e.V., this exchange now has an even stronger framework. For us, this is a positive sign for the entire industry and another step toward greater visibility, commitment, and shared responsibility.
Sustainability is a process that is never complete. This makes it all the more important to drive it forward together.
