Staging of the Ceremony in Frankfurt ‘Paulskirche’
This year again, the event agency, Jazzunique from Frankfurt, was responsible for staging the awards ceremony for the “International High-rise Award” with around
1,000 guests in Frankfurt’s St. Paul’s Church. The award is one of the most important architectural awards that has now been awarded five times in succession to international architects for outstanding high-rise architecture in Frankfurt. The final was won by the star architects, ingenhoven architects (Düsseldorf) and Architectus (Sydney) with a 139m office high-rise in Sydney.
On behalf of the town of Frankfurt, DekaBank and the German Museum of Architecture (DAM), Jazzunique was responsible for the advance organization and for staging the award ceremony. It was vitally important to hold a dignified and classy event due to the high international recognition of the award and the devout location.
After a speech by Frankfurt’s Lord Mayor, Peter Feldmann, and a musical performance by the Isenburg Quartet, members of the famous Ensemble Modern, the winners of the International High-Rise Award for 2012 were announced by Dr. Matthias Danne, member of the Board of Directors at DekaBank. The showing of a film by the cultural TV program, “ZDF Aspekte” which was produced specially for the International High-Rise Award, proved a highlight of the event.
Following the laudatory speech by Carol Willis, Director of the Skyscraper Museum New York, the prize-giving by the Lord Mayor, Peter Feldmann, Peter Cachola Schmal, Director of the DAM and Dr. Matthias Danne as well as the winners’ acceptance speeches, guests had an opportunity to chat in a get-together in the rotunda of St. Paul’s church.
