Foyer of the Kassel Planetarium shines in a new light
Jazzunique and architect Kirsten Haake worked together on a project to restore the foyer of the Kassel Planetarium to its original form. In parallel to a technological update of the planetarium itself, which should allow future visitors even more penetrating insights into the secrets of the universe, the antechamber to the starry dome was to be given a fresh look.
The object of the conversion was to restore the original substance of the historic building. The overall impression it gives is now very much understated and reduced, allowing the emphasis to fall on the cylindrical interior structure. With its dark colouring and faceted wall design, this constitutes an optical counterpoint.
